Barbara Jean Martinez

Our beloved mother and grandmother, Barbara Jean Martinez, daughter of Don and Marie Curley, passed peacefully on March 28, 2026 with her heart fulfilled as she was reunited at heaven’s gates with our father, Lawrence T. Martinez. She was born in Fort Defiance, Arizona, and was forever a resident of Shiprock, New Mexico.

Her time had come, and the broken heart she carried is now whole. Her love of God and her love of life were the keystone of her beliefs. Her hands were so creative; she found great joy in her crafts and in sharing them with others.

Barbara’s love and prayers for her family and friends will be deeply missed. Her warm smile could melt your heart, and her laughter brought light and joy to every day.
