Daryl Darlene Collins, a dedicated nurse and beloved member of her community, passed away on July 12, 2025, in Shiprock, New Mexico. She was born on August 19, 1949, in Farmington, New Mexico, to a loving family that would shape her compassionate nature and commitment to caring for others.
Daryl earned an Associate's Degree, which laid the foundation for her fulfilling career in nursing. Her devotion to her profession was evident in the countless lives she touched and the care she provided to those in need. Her family knows well of her deep compassion and the pride she took in her work.
Throughout her life, Daryl cherished her role as a mother and grandmother, loving her children and grandchildren with a boundless affection. Her family was the cornerstone of her life, bringing her joy and fulfillment. Daryl's interests reflected her vibrant personality; she had a special fondness for the Dallas Cowboys and delighted in activities such as word searches, reading, and sewing. She enjoyed sipping on Dr. Pepper and had a particular passion for softball, which she relished.
Daryl will be remembered for her warmth and caring spirit; she had a large family whom she deeply loved and who will miss her dearly. Her legacy of kindness and nurturing will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
A Funeral Service will be held on July 17, 2025, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Shiprock, New Mexico, starting at 10:00 AM, with interment to follow at Powerline Cemetery in Toadlena, New Mexico, at 1:30 PM. Friends, family, and community members are invited to honor Daryl's life and share in the memories that will keep her spirit alive.
