Wilson Charley, 85, of Bloomfield, New Mexico, passed from this life Tuesday, December 19, 2023, in Farmington, New Mexico. He was born September 29, 1938 in Carson, New Mexico, to, the late, Fred and Annie Charley, of Carson, New Mexico. Wilson’s clans were Ta’neeszahnii (Tangle Clan), Bit’ahnii (His Folded arm Clan), Kinyaa’aani (Towering House Clan), and T’aachiini (Red Running into The Water Clan).
He was employed with the Union Pacific Railroad as well as a masonry who built countless buildings in San Juan County. Wilson is preceded in death by his parents, siblings, and his two beloved sons, Jonathan and Wilson Charley, Jr.
Wilson is survived by his children Carlston Victor and Melvin Armstong of Nageezi, New Mexico, Dephina Charley and Demetria Bitsue of Farmington, New Mexico, Fredrick Charley of South Dokota, Jonas Charley of Colorado Springs, Colorado, Madeline Charley-Ray of Bloomfield, New Mexico, Marjori Charley of Burnham, New Mexico, and Alonzo Charley of Farmington, New Mexico.
He proudly accepted Darlene Phillips of Aneth, Utah, Franklin Padilla of Upper Fruitland, New Mexico, and Delores Ray of Gallup, New Mexico. He was surrounded by 49 grandchildren, 46 great grandchildren and one great, great grandbaby.
Services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, December 30, 2023, at the Carson Faith Assembly, Inc. in Carson, New Mexico, 818 CR 7150, Bloomfield, New Mexico. Interment will follow at St. Luke’s Cemetery in Carson, New Mexico. The reception will be held at the Carson Faith Assembly, Inc. following interment.
